Synopsis "God's Precious Promises: Beyond the Rainbow"
It was nearing my lunch break, and Dr. Davis had already left for lunch. I took my Bible into his office so no one would see me if they came in. I needed a heart-felt talk with my Lord. As I knelt beside a chair, I opened to Hebrews 4:16 (KJV). "Let us come boldly to the throne of God to receive mercy to help us in our time of need!" Wow! What a verse and promise. I put my finger on that promise and prayed ... "Lord, I am your child, and You know my heart. I have worked in the schools with deaf children, and now I want to work with the hearing children in Christian ministry. I have wanted to be in full time Christian service for many years, since Chrissy was a little baby, but with my difficult marriage, and six children, I never knew how in the world that would ever come to be, but You did! You have always known, and You will make a way in Your timing. I will do whatever You want me to do, Lord." Upon returning to my desk to close for lunch, it was not five minutes later when the phone rang ... "Hello, Annette. This is Pastor Kline. I know you have been attending our Bible college as you've been working, and I have received your application to work in our Christian school. Are you still interested?" "Well yes, of course, but I'm not finished with my degree yet." "How do you feel about teaching at the same time as learning?" "Of course, I happily replied, but doesn't school start tomorrow?" Beverley Reuland is a retired schoolteacher, having taught children for 30 years in Christian ministry in Colorado, California, and Nebraska. In writing her autobiography of her life's journey, she has wanted to be a steppingstone of encouragement to helping others take Jesus at His Word, and trust His precious promises, no matter what challenges come their way.
