Detective Jeremiah Walker's estranged wife, Ruth, is in serious trouble after her lover is found shot in the Necropolis cemetery. Knowing she will be held to account and could face the gallows, Ruth returns to the marital home she had abandoned to beg for her husband's assistance. Despite her clear lack of loyalty, Jeremiah feels compelled to help, even though his interference in his colleague's case may end up costing him his badge. His assistance also has another price. Ruth must hide in their home without anyone knowing she has returned until he can determine the true culprit in her lover's murder.
