Synopsis "Grabbing the Muse by the Throat"

With a landmark birthday fast approaching, Wendy realised she'd need to get a move on if she wanted to fulfil her lifelong dream of making a living from her art and writing. Foremost was her desire to paint again after many fallow years. New Year's resolutions hadn't worked and neither had vague promises to herself, so with no thumbscrews close to hand she threw down the gauntlet in the form of a ten day painting challenge. This morphed into a whole year of creative challenges which Wendy documents in an amusing, warts-and-all narrative. Set against the backdrop of an ordinary life raising teenage daughters and dealing with the tail-end of physical and mental health issues, her year unfolds in a creatively extraordinary manner. If you've been looking for inspiration to get started on your own creative journey, this book shows how you too can grab the muse by the throat!
