The Traditional Latin Mass, known to many as the Tridentine Mass, is the only rite in the Roman Church history that was not created all at once, or by a committee, council, or Pope. It is the Mass of the Ages, organically developed over the ages and across centuries, and solemnly codified at the Council of Trent.
This book is a heartfelt apologia for that ancient liturgy. It explains why so many Traditional Catholics, cling so fiercely to it rather than accept the Novus Ordo of Paul VI. Drawing from history, Scripture and personal experience, including his own as an Altar Boy, and later as a teacher and mentor, Don Shannon defends the beauty, reverence, and doctrinal purity of the Immemorial Mass of the Ages.
He does share both his hope and confidence that in the end, the Church will survive, as we have Jesus' word on it: "The gages of Hell shall not prevail."
