This compilation brings together more than thirty articles by distinguished Hispanists from various countries, all of them former friends and colleagues of Alfredo A. Roggiano, to whom they dedicate these works as a tribute to this poet, critic and teacher and his contribution to Hispanicism for more than half a century. Also as a literary critic, a professor, a researcher, and Director of the Revista Iberoamericana, Alfredo A. Roggiano occupies a unique and primordial place among the current figures of Ibero-American literature and culture. Through his extensive creative work in the editorial, critical, and educational arenas, he has played a fundamentally important role in the development of Ibero-American studies in the United States for nearly seven decades.
