Synopsis "Horeb (in German)"

1979. Die Geschichtsstudentin Klara Weiss ist mit ihrem Ehemann auf Forschungsreise in Saudi-Arabien, als eine Geiselnahme in der Gro en Moschee von Mekka das Land zum Stillstand bringt. Während ihr Ehemann die Nächte mit einem gemeinsamen Freund verbringt, lernt Klara den Monteur Klaus kennen, mit dem sie eine Affäre beginnt. Ein Jahr später wird ihre Tochter geboren. 26 Jahre später kommt ihre Tochter bei einem Unfall ums Leben. In vier Vignetten lässt die Ich-Erzählerin Klara ihr Leben zwischen den Jahren 1979 und 2014 Revue passieren; berichtet über ihre gro en Lieben und Verluste, und stellt diese immer wieder in Zusammenhang mit ihrer Arbeit zu den Weltreligionen, dem Extremismus und dem unaufhaltsamen Wandel der Zeit.
