Philipp Dettmer (nacido en 1986 en Múnich, Alemania) es un divulgador científico, escritor y diseñador gráfico alemán, conocido principalmente por ser el fundador y director creativo de Kurzgesagt – In a Nutshell, uno de los canales de divulgación científica más populares de YouTube. Su trabajo se centra en explicar temas complejos de ciencia, tecnología, medicina, filosofía y sociedad mediante animaciones visualmente atractivas y un lenguaje accesible para el público general.

Desde joven mostró interés por el diseño y la comunicación visual. Tras completar sus estudios en diseño de comunicación, comenzó a desarrollar proyectos enfocados en la educación científica.
