The response was unbelievable. Thousands of players wrote what was endearing and most meaningful to them. Interesting occurrences that only they could relate to, yet the side of baseball, which is at the very heart of the National Pastime from John Paciorek, who played only one major league game, but finished with the highest batting average with at least 3 at-bats to John Miller, who was the first Yankee to have a homerun his first at bat and then 4 years later hit a homerun his last at bat in the big leagues.
