Kurt Busiek (Boston, September 16, 1960) is a renowned American comic book writer, noted for his ability to revitalize and humanize the superhero genre. He began his professional career in 1982 with issue 162 of "Green Lantern". Throughout his career, he has worked on iconic titles such as "The Avengers", "Iron Man", "Superman", and "Spiderman".

Among his most outstanding works are "Marvels" (1994), a limited series that offers a human perspective of the Marvel universe, and "Astro City" (1995), a saga that addresses superhero stories from a personal and reflective angle. Both works have been widely recognized for their narrative quality and have received multiple awards, establishing Busiek as an influential figure in the comic book industry.
