Gordon Phillips has penned an entertaining semi-fictional account of James MacPherson's life based on historic documents and legend. Classical novel elements of love, hate, war, peace and the struggle for personal freedom are woven throughout the story of James MacPherson, who excelled with sword and fiddle.
