Die kolumbianische Maisbank enthält eine beträchtliche Anzahl von Landrassen-Akzessionen, mit denen Maiszuchtprogramme in Kolumbien und weltweit eine gro e Anzahl von Genotypen geschaffen haben. In den 1950er Jahren wurden 1077 Landrassen-Akzessionen gesammelt und identifiziert; in den 1960er Jahren erreichte die Keimplasmabank in Medellín die Zahl von 2078 einheimischen Akzessionen. Während der Entwicklung des LAMP-Projekts wurden 2097 Criollo-Akzessionen für die Auswertung gesammelt, die zu denselben 23 Rassengruppen gehören, die Roberts et al. 1957 ursprünglich festgelegt hatten.
