René Guénon (1886–1951) was a French philosopher and esotericist, an emblematic figure in metaphysics and spiritual traditions. His most notable work in Spanish is Fundamental Symbols of the Sacred Science (author, posthumous compilation translated in 1988 by Eudeba and in 1995 by Paidós), which groups articles written between 1925 and 1950. In approximately 344 pages, it addresses traditional symbolism across multiple cultures. It falls within the genre of esoteric philosophy and symbolic studies

This book has not received formal literary awards, although its influence is significant in the field of traditional spirituality. Guénon explores symbolic foundations such as the cross, the zodiac, and the initiatory cave, contributing deeply to the understanding of a "sacred science" that spans diverse civilizations.
