Jorge Mario Bergoglio, known worldwide as Pope Francis, was a prolific author in the genres of spirituality, theology, and social doctrine. Before his election as pontiff in 2013, he wrote works such as Meditations for Religious (1982) and On Self-Accusation (2005). During his papacy, he published fundamental texts like the encyclicals Lumen fidei (2013), Laudato si’ (2015), and Fratelli tutti (2020), as well as the apostolic exhortation Evangelii gaudium (2013).
