Sonsoles Ónega (Madrid, November 30, 1977) is a journalist, TV host, and a prominent writer of current Spanish narrative. With a degree in Journalism from Universidad San Pablo CEU, she began her professional career at CNN+ and Noticias Cuatro, establishing herself as a parliamentary correspondent for Telecinco for a decade. She has successfully hosted shows like “Ya es mediodía” and “Ya son las ocho” on Mediaset, and since October 2022, she leads the daily magazine “Y ahora Sonsoles” on Antena 3, positioning herself as one of the most influential communicators on Spanish television.

In the literary field, Ónega has published novels such as "Calle Habana, esquina Obispo", "Donde Dios no estuvo", "Encuentros en Bonaval", "Nosotras que lo quisimos todo", "Mil besos prohibidos" and "Después del amor", the latter earning her the Fernando Lara Novel Award in 2017. Her consecration came in 2023 with the Planeta Prize for "Las hijas de la criada", a family saga set in early 20th century Galicia, advocating for women's roles in the canning industry. Her literature, recognized for the depth of its characters and historical accuracy, has established her as a benchmark of contemporary Spanish narrative.
