Synopsis "Lottie & The Temple Cat Quahr"

In a school for goddesses, Lottie does nothing but get in trouble. And her Temple Cat does nothing but encourage her!Her adventures begin when she meets two cats. The two cats are like twins, identical and unusual: long, long necks, slim golden bodies, tiny heads and serpentine tails that occasionally swoop over their heads like ceremonial umbrellas. Eyes, large and blue-deep, deep blue with sparks of pale sky-illuminate the dusk. There is also a girl. An average-looking girl. Her name is Lottie and she is looking down at the two cats in wonder. Because the two cats seem to know Lottie; they seem to be waiting for her.At the girl's feet the two cats stretched, their long golden bellies touching the ground. Then they walked around her legs three times."Are you lost?" Lottie asked the cats, mystified by the appearance of such odd cats. The cats were ignoring Lottie so she decided to ignore them. Dusk, and all too soon black night. Lottie's work in the fields was done and now there was more work at the house before she could even think of dinner. She must hurry or it would be too dark to see. How endless the road ahead of her seemed. But it was always like that at the beginning of roads. Lottie had to stop thinking about distance and fatigue. I'll soon be halfway there, she thought-already the farmhouse was closer-she just had to keep moving her feet.Surprisingly, the two cats were following Lottie, a cat on either side of her.If you love Neil Gaiman's Coraline and Diana Wynne Jones's The Chronicles of Chrestomanci, give Lottie a try!
