Sin duda no es fácil reconstruir la historia de este prócer, pero valiéndose de múltiples fuentes y testimonios de la época, la autora da con un relato vibrante y riguroso donde intenta despejar los matices de leyenda que con los años ha adquirido este hombre que entregó su vida a la lucha contra la dominación española.
