Cuba ha sido el destino por excelencia del revolucionarismo internacional: durante casi sesenta años, el peregrinaje político se ha encargado de hacer de la Revolución la construcción imaginada de su Revolución. Este libro analiza tres imágenes cardinales de tal proceso –el mártir, el líder y la pachanga socialista– a través del cine de peregrinaje político, y muestra cómo los eventos sacrificiales dispuestos en torno a estas imágenes son los que han proporcionado a tal imaginario el pharmakon necesario para asegurar su carácter diurno, ascensional y heroico.Henry Eric Hernández (Camagüey, 1971) se doctoró en la Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Su trabajo se ocupa de los estudios culturales en torno a los medios, los estudios antropológicos del imaginario, la representación de la violencia política y la retórica poscomunista. Investigador social y artista transdisciplinar, ha recibido becas de The John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation, The Pollock-Krasner Foundation, The Christoph Merian Foundation y The Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park. Ha publicado La revancha (2006) y Otra isla para Miguel (2008).
