Alex Irvine, cuyo nombre completo es Alexander C. Irvine, es un escritor estadounidense reconocido por su trabajo en los géneros de ciencia ficción, fantasía y terror. Nació en 1969 y desarrolló una trayectoria profesional relacionada tanto con la literatura como con el periodismo, los cómics, los videojuegos y otros medios de entretenimiento. Estudió en la Universidad de Michigan, donde obtuvo una licenciatura, y posteriormente realizó estudios de posgrado en la Universidad de Maine y la Universidad de Denver.

Irvine es autor de varias obras de ficción, entre ellas A Scattering of Jades, Buyout, The Narrows y Anthropocene Rag. Su novela A Scattering of Jades recibió el Crawford Award, reconocimiento otorgado a escritores destacados de ficción fantástica. También ha sido finalista y nominado a importantes premios literarios.
