Adolf Hitler (Braunau am Inn, Austria-Hungary, April 20, 1889 - Berlin, Germany, April 30, 1945) was the leader of the Nazi movement and eventually became the dictator of Germany. He gained power and popularity during the years of the Great Depression thanks to his propagandistic oratory until he rose as the ultimate political leader during the Third Reich.

The expansionist cravings of the Führer were the cause of the start of World War II with the invasion of Poland. Along with other Axis powers, such as Mussolini's Italy, he annexed much of Europe and North Africa. His racism and antisemitism led him to order terrible ethnic cleansings in concentration and extermination camps like Auschwitz in what is known as the Holocaust. Although several assassination attempts were made against Hitler, it would take his suicide in his bunker, when the Soviet troops took Berlin in 1945 and Germany conceded defeat in World War II.

Dietrich Eckart (1868–1923) was a German poet, playwright, and journalist, known for his role as an ideologue of the völkisch movement and for his influence on the early stages of the National Socialist German Workers' Party (NSDAP). Among his most notable works are the theatrical adaptation of Peer Gynt (1912), which was highly successful in Berlin, and Heinrich der Hohenstaufe (1915), a historical drama that was banned for its political content. He also founded and led the magazine Auf gut deutsch (1918–1920), where he spread his nationalist and antisemitic ideas

Eckart is the author of Bolshevism from Moses to Lenin: A Dialogue between Hitler and Me, published posthumously in 1925, which reflects his antisemitic thinking and his influence on Adolf Hitler. Additionally, he was the editor of the newspaper Völkischer Beobachter, the official organ of the NSDAP, and wrote the anthem Sturmlied, adopted by the Sturmabteilung (SA)
