Birgit Hüpping nimmt subjektive Sichtweisen von Grundschullehrkräften in Bezug auf den pädagogischen Umgang mit migrationsbedingter Heterogenität in den Blick. Dabei werden akteurs- und handlungsbezogene sowie institutionelle Ebenen im Kontext von Schule analysiert. In einer qualitativen Interviewstudie zeigt die Autorin auf, dass die Heterogenität der Schülerschaft grundsätzlich bejaht und in ihren verschiedenen und vielfältigen Dimensionen wahrgenommen wird. Bei der Umsetzung in pädagogische Praktiken sind allerdings mehrere komplexitätsreduzierende Strategien im Spiel, die in ihren möglichen Auswirkungen auf Persönlichkeitsentwicklung und Bildungserfolge einzelner Kinder oder Gruppen hoch problematisch sind.
