Synopsis "Mila alkondara eguneko (in Basque)"

1911ko martxoaren 25ean, New Yorkeko Asch eraikinetik kometak erortzen ikusi zituzten oinezkoek. Izan zen eguneko mila alkandora egin behar zituztelako. Gaur, 114 urte geroago, liburu honek kometa eta alkandora haien istorioa kontatzen digu... 1911ko lan-istripua orduko handienetakoa izan zen, eta emakumeei garai hartan eragin zien handiena. Sutea alkandora-lantegian zabaldu zen; emakumeak ziren hango langile gehienak. Asko etorkin italiarrak ziren; Ellis Islandeko kontrol gogorrak igaro, eta azkenean amets amerikarra pareta haien artean betiko hautsi zitzaien emakumeak. Mila alkandora eguneko liburuak haien historia kontatzen du —bi emakumerena bereziki—, haien bizitzena, desioena eta amaiera tragikoarena.

1911ko martxoaren 25ean, 129 emakume langile kiskalita hil ziren New Yorkeko Triangle Shirtwaist Factoryn piztutako sutean. Liburu honek omenaldia egiten die.
