Molly Overcame
Jimmy Bright (Author) · Christian Faith Publishing · Hardcover
This story is about Molly the overcomer. At a young age, Molly loses one of her legs and faces the challenge of learning to adapt to the world with only one leg. Molly is determined to overcome her limitation and learns to function with her disability.
Molly is an actual real-life chicken, and she demonstrated true grit and inspiration to everyone who knew her. Her can-do attitude is something that we could all use when facing life's struggles. Our Creator oversees every aspect of the creation and was aware of Molly, providing her the strength and God-given ability to conquer her world.
Molly is a positive role model at each phase of her development and growth, and eventually she becomes the leader of the flock. Each scene in the book features a special bird symbolizing the transitions that Molly experiences. Molly proves that even with limitations, she is still capable of providing leadership and living a meaningful life. Her example to the Christian is that we are able to do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.
During the story, Molly meets Tammy Two-Toe, and they form a unique bond and support one another with their various challenges. A good friend is difficult to find, and when we do, we should work to see past each other's limitations and even their disabilities to draw upon the full experience of what it means to be human.
Molly is an example of what we can accomplish with God's favor and will for our lives. Approaching God in humbleness and acceptance is difficult enough without a physical or mental disability, but Molly does not let her limitations get her down. She truly exemplifies the motto "Never Give Up!"
