Patxi Irurzun (Pamplona, 1969) is an author, among other works, of the short story book La tristeza de las tiendas de pelucas (finalist of the Setenil Award 2013 for the best short story book of the year and the Euskadi Award 2014); the novels Los dueños del viento, El tren de los locos, Pan duro, Atrapados en el paraíso, about his trip to the Payatas dump in Manila (Award for Literary Creation from the Government of Navarra); the diary Dios nunca reza; or Mi papá me mima, a humorous chronicle about fatherhood. His series of novels about the imaginary Rock Radikal Vasco group Los Tampones (Tratado de hortografía, Chucherías Herodes and La mentira es la que manda) has gained great popularity and different editions in Spain, Chile, and Mexico. Some of his works have been translated into French, Italian, Slovenian, and Basque. He has also written children's and youth literature, regularly collaborates in the press, and has won various literary contests, such as the I Travel Stories Award from El País-Aguilar or the Ciudad de Palencia narrative award.
