La vida de Jane ocurrió sin acontecimientos que destaquen y vivió una existencia provinciana y acomodada. Nunca contrajo matrimonio y los eventos más importantes de su apacible vida fueron sus intermitentes viajes a Londres. Apacible, sereno y equilibrado fue también su estilo de escribir, la minuciosa y sutil ironía con que describe el ambiente que la rodea, el de la alta clase rural del sur de Inglaterra. La intriga narrativa suele ser de poca importancia, pero el interés de sus obras reside en los diferentes matices psicológicos de sus personajes, interpretados con gran agudeza, y en la descripción amable y comprensiva, pero no carente de maliciosa ironía, del ambiente social en que sitúa sus obras, que no es otro que el suyo propio, el de la burguesía acomodada. Lo anterior le valió para ser reconocida como un gran exponente de la novela romántica británica. Jan Edginton es uno de los escritores más conocidos de Gran Bretaña, quien ha tenido un tremendo impacto en el mundo del cómic. En su ilustre carrera ha trabajado para Lucasfilm, Paramount Pictures y 20th Century Fox para adaptar Star Wars, Star Trek, Alien, Depredador y Terminator, así como La guerra de los mundos, de H. G. Wells. Robert Deas comenzó su carrera profesional de cómic y el manga hace apenas algunos años, después de ganar el segundo lugar en la competencia IMAC 2006 en la categoría impresos/cómic. Después, de publicar November, su propio escrito sobre espionaje, produjo la obra Macbeth (2008), en la aclamada serie de manga de SelfMadeHero Shakespeare en 2008. November, fue publicado a todo color para el mercado vietnamita en el mismo año.

She was a British novelist who lived during the Georgian era. She was born in the rectory of Steventon (Hampshire). Her family belonged to the British gentry (rural nobility or agrarian bourgeoisie), a context she never left and in which she set all her works, always revolving around the marriage of her protagonist.

She has been portrayed in cinema on numerous occasions, sometimes faithfully reproduced, like the 1940 classic Pride and Prejudice directed by Robert Z. Leonard and starring Greer Garson and Laurence Olivier, and other times adapted to modern times, as is the case with Clueless, a loose adaptation of Emma. Other versions include Sense and Sensibility from 1995; Mansfield Park from 2000; and Pride and Prejudice in 2004 (directed by Gurinder Chadha) and in 2005 (directed by Joe Wright). However, the most faithful and perfect version of the book Pride and Prejudice to date is the series presented by the BBC starring Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle. The interest that Jane Austen's work continues to arouse today shows the relevance of her thought and the influence she has had on subsequent literature. Her life has also been portrayed in film with the movie Becoming Jane (2007)
