Zwischen Verschwörungstheorien, der Sicht als Strafe Gottes und der fatalistischen Annahme eines "notwenigen Übels" changieren die Erklärungsmodelle im Film wie auch in der gesellschaftlichen Wirklichkeit. Filme bieten dabei stellvertretend narrative Lösungsmodelle an.
