Jo Nesbø was born in Oslo in 1960. Graduated in Economics, before jumping into literature he was a footballer, singer, songwriter, and stockbroker. Since he published The Bat in 1997, the first novel of the series starring detective Harry Hole, he has been acclaimed as the best Norwegian crime novelist and as a benchmark of the last great wave of noir genre authors worldwide. He currently has over sixty million copies sold internationally. His novels have been translated into fifty languages and their rights have been sold to top film and television producers.
In Red and Black, the complete Harry Hole series has been published, consisting of thirteen titles to date: The Bat, Cockroaches, The Redbreast, Nemesis, The Devil’s Star, The Redeemer, The Snowman, The Leopard, Phantom, Police, Thirst, Knife, and The Kingdom of Blindness. All his standalone novels have also been translated into Spanish: Headhunters, The Heir, Blood on Snow, Midnight Sun, Macbeth, The Kingdom, The Night House, and The King of Os, as well as the collection of stories The Jealousy Man.
