Synopsis "Platero y yo Contado a los Niños (in Spanish)"

¿Cómo era Platero? Platero era pequeño, peludo, suave; tan blando por fuera que parecía que no tenía huesos, que era de algodón. Pero sus ojos negros, eran como espejos de azabache –esa reluciente piedra negra- porque eran duros como dos escarabajos de crista. Cuando lo dejaban suelto, se iba al prado. Con su hocico acariciaba las flores rosas, azules, amarillas. Y cuando lo llamaban, cuando oía su nombre -« ¡Platero!»-, acudía enseguida trotando tan alegremente que parecía que se reía, que sonaban cascabeles.

She is a professor of Spanish Literature at the University of Barcelona, where she taught from 1969 to 2018, and is now professor emeritus. She has edited many texts from the Golden Age. Additionally, she is the author of numerous philological essays. In 2005, she began her work as an adapter of classic texts for children and for all audiences: from Don Quixote Told to Children (2005) to The Metamorphoses of Ovid and Other Myths (2020) or The Miser by Molière (2021), thus opening the pages of literary treasures to all readers.
