Synopsis "Que Vienen los Marcianos! (in Spanish)"

Pancho, Joseque y Teban escuchan decir a dos mujeres del pueblo que los visitarán los marcianos. Como cualquier niño de 8 años sabe, eso significa que podrían invadirlos. Extraterrestres. Extrañamente, en el pueblo a nadie parece importarle la idea de una invasión de alienígenas, así que los tres niños se ven obligados a hacerlo todo solos: construir un aeropuerto para ovnis, preparar una merienda a base de hierro oxidado y buscar alojamiento para los visitantes. Las acciones secretas de los chicos llaman la atención de la prensa local, que empieza a ver indicios de la presencia de extraterrestres en el pueblo. Ahora, tanto los tres chicos, como sus vecinos, creen que vendrán los marcianos, aunque por motivos diferentes. Al final, se descubre que los únicos marcianos que visitan Villavernes de la Vega son los dos hijos de Aurora, la viuda de Marciano.

David Fernández Sifres, born in León in 1976, is an author of children's and young adult literature known for his ability to combine exciting stories with educational values.

His literary career began with award-winning short stories, the prizes from which he often used to travel. In 2008, he published his first children's novel, "¡Que viene el Diluvio!". Since then, he has accumulated several recognitions, such as the Alandar Youth Literature Award 2011 for El faro de la mujer ausente and the Ala Delta Children's Literature Award 2012 for Un intruso en mi cuaderno. His most notable work, "Luces en el canal" (2013), earned him the prestigious El Barco de Vapor Award for its message about the importance of looking beyond appearances. More recently, he has published "¡Que vienen los zombis!" (2023) and Don Yata. "El secreto del árbol" (2024), continuing his legacy in children's and young adult literature.
