Didier Eribon is a philosopher. He is the author of a famous biography of Michel Foucault (Anagrama, 1992) (translated into twenty languages) and has also published several other epoch-making works such as Identities: reflections on the gay question (Biblioteca del Ciudadano, Bellaterra, 2000), Reflections on the gay question (Anagrama, 2001), A morality of the minority: variations on a theme by Jean Genet (Anagrama, 2004), Heresies: essays on the theory of sexuality (Col. SGU, Bellaterra, 2004) and recently D’une révolution conservatrice et de ses effets sur la gauche française (Léo Scheer, 2007). Invited to numerous foreign universities (particularly in Berkeley where he has been Visiting Professor for several years), internationally, he is considered one of the most important French intellectuals today, and Yale University awarded him the prestigious James Robert Brudner Memorial Prize in 2008.
