After witnessing their evil, she becomes targeted and unlike her father, who was a beloved sheriff, she learns quickly that she is way over her head. ***** As I wrote the conclusion of this story, I knew I would have to honestly present the ruthless mind-set of the outlaws to make the reader understand the real danger of my characters. I also prayed for insight of the American Indians who were brutalized along the Trail of Tears. Their plight and struggles were etched in my mind as I wrote this fictional story. I prayed that it could be presented in such a way to show the desperate journey inflicted on them by those who chose to live without law--without compassion--and without God. My prayer has been to touch the hearts of those who read the Legend of Panther Holler trilogy, which I was inspired to write.
