A 1943 cookbook created by the Columbus, Indiana Chapter of Bundles for America. Includes recipes submitted by several notables of the time including Eleanor Roosevelt. During World War II, Bundles for America branches across the country worked and raised money to provide knitted garments for Army, Navy, Coast Guard, and Merchant Marine personnel and their families. SELECTED RECIPES was a fund raising project intended for the "relief of the dependent families of men in service and to buy comforts for our armed forces." With over 250 recipes, the result is a wonderful cookbook and a sterling example of the war effort on the US home front.
