Henricus - Edition Deutsche Klassik GmbH Über den Autor: Der 1824 in Breslau geborene Albert Brachvogel bricht seine Graveurlehre ab, um Schauspieler in Wien zu werden, was ihm so wenig gelingt wie das anschlie end aufgenommene Studium der Philosophie. Schlie lich findet er in Berlin eine Stelle als Sekretär und schreibt in seiner Freizeit. 1856 erzielt er mit seinem Trauerspiel Narzi den gro en Durchbruch, an den er mit späteren Werken nicht mehr anknüpfen kann. Bis zu seinem Tode 1878 lebt er in Berlin.
