Dieses Buch ist das Ergebnis des 2002 abgeschlossenen Studiengangs Kunstpädagogik, in dem über die Erfahrungen mit der Gruppe Africatarina berichtet wird, die sich aus Kunstwissenschaftlern und -lehrern zusammensetzt, die mit der Staatlichen Universität von Santa Catarina (UDESCCEART) und der Afro-Descendant Community von Florianópolis/SC verbunden sind. Es wird ein wenig über die Geschichte der Gruppe und die Partnerschaft mit der Stiftung Maurício Sirotsky Sobrinho (FMSS) berichtet, aus der das Programm Arte-Cidadania hervorgegangen ist. In einer unterhaltsamen Lektüre erläutert die Autorin ein Szenario für die künstlerische Entwicklung von Kindern, indem sie ihnen die Möglichkeit gibt, sich die sozialen und kulturellen Inhalte ihrer Gemeinschaft kritisch und konstruktiv anzueignen, Erfahrungen auszutauschen und Wissen zu teilen, wie es die Grundsätze der Erziehung zum Leben durch Kunst vorsehen.
