Synopsis "Standard Values for Young People in Competitive Soccer"

The present work deals with the creation of specific standard values for sports motor and soccer-specific tests in junior competitive sports as part of a master's thesis. The data is based on the tests carried out by Akademie Steiermark - SK Sturm Graz, which were collected in cooperation with the FH Joanneum Sport Science Laboratory from 2017 - 2024. A total of around 5,000 individual measurements from several hundred male players aged between 14 and >=17 who took part in eleven different test procedures were analyzed. Based on a comprehensive statistical analysis, age-based norm values were created for the respective tests. The results show performance-related differences between the age groups and underline the importance of age- and development-specific performance diagnostics in soccer. With the development of academy-related norm values, this work makes a contribution to sports science research in youth soccer and at the same time provides a practical basis for coaches and sports scientists.
