John Bergsma es un teólogo y biblista católico estadounidense reconocido por su labor académica y su trabajo de divulgación. Nació en 1967 y en sus primeros años fue pastor protestante dentro de la tradición presbiteriana. Sin embargo, tras un profundo estudio de las Escrituras y de la historia de la Iglesia, se convirtió al catolicismo en 2001, una decisión que marcó el rumbo de su vida personal y profesional.

Bergsma obtuvo su doctorado en Teología Bíblica en la University of Notre Dame, una de las instituciones más prestigiosas en estudios religiosos. Actualmente es profesor de Teología en el Franciscan University of Steubenville, donde se especializa en Antiguo Testamento y en la relación entre las Escrituras y la tradición católica.

Es autor de numerosos libros y estudios, muchos de ellos orientados tanto a académicos como al público general.
