Synopsis "The Distant Horseman"

He isn't from around here. He isn't even from now.Luther Burden has a wealthy, powerful life waiting for him back home - a jet, a corner office, a fortune. But every so often he vanishes from it without a word, drawn to a place and time where an old debt still needs settling. This time it's a small frontier town, and a widow and her young son quietly caught in the grip of the most trusted man in it.Squire Humphrey Higby is everyone's benefactor. He buys the cattle no one else will, lends a hand to every rancher who needs one, and smiles the whole time he's slowly taking everything they have. When Burden uncovers the truth behind Higby's fortune - and the murder he's built it on - he has one chance to make a town see the man they trust for what he really is.No one will believe him. Not without a price he may not be able to pay twice. From the unpublished work of Verland T WhippleThis edition presents The Distant Horseman in its original screenplay format, exactly as written, along with a full plot synopsis for readers who want the complete story laid out scene by scene.
