Katherine Lockhart from small town America has made her decision and now calls a tiny apartment surrounded by the flashing lights, and busy life of New York City her home. Writing bit pieces and a popular advice column in The Springfield Haven News offers her a steady income which pays her bills but she hungers for more, much more. Though she found that leaving family and friends behind was difficult she also came to terms and realized that leaving the mundane life of a small town wasn't even a challenge, in fact it was easy. She never lacked for motivation, drive or ambition because her parents instilled a strong work ethic and engrained it deeply in her mind. Can't do wasn't a part of her vocabulary but can and will do became her driving force. All seemed simple enough but all isn't as simple as it appears to be when a casual visit back to her hometown turns into a chaotic war of words and a myriad of unanswered questions suddenly rear their heads determined to throw her off track. Is her career really the only thing she desires or do her feelings run deeper than those of a struggling columnist trying to earn a name for herself? Will she surrender to the easy way out offered from the old life she left behind or come to her senses and see where her place in life truly is?
