Helena Petrovna Blavatsky (Ekaterinoslav, 1831 – London, 1891) was an influential Russian writer and a central figure in modern esotericism. Co-founder of the Theosophical Society in 1875, her work combines elements of occultism, Eastern religions, philosophy, and mysticism.
