Nothing is more essential for a congregation than the ministry of prayer. Jesus made this clear to His disciples when He said men should always pray and not faint. Luke 18:1 states, "1 And he spoke a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always pray and not to faint". Though prayer is for the entire body of Christ, God has specifically given the ministry of prayer to women. By nature, women are structured to travail and bring forth, Therefore, it is understandable why God has selected the women to bear the burden of the congregation through the spiritual womb of prayer. Jeremiah 9:17 divides the prayer ministry of women into three special divisions (cunning, mourning, and wailing). The prayer minister of the Churches of God the Bibleway is design with this concept in mind. As you embrace this powerful ministry it is important to understand your specific purpose in prayer. COGTB encourages corporate prayer because it unifies the body of Christ and allows us to bear the burden of each other when we pray. Divisional prayer has its benefits as well because it allows us to be specific in regards to our spiritual needs. The praying women ministry embarks upon this method in a magnified way; it does so by means of prayer request. Philippians 4:6 states, "6 be careful for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God". Those who commit themselves to the ministry of prayer in COGTB understand the responsibility of receiving prayer requests and properly distributing them to those who specialize in that area of prayer. We are confident that this ministry will enhance the awareness of spirituality and provide tools needed to become the praying women that God has designed those involved to become.
