Synopsis "The Smile That Went Around the World (Revised Edition)"

What starts out as a simple gift, soon turns into a chain-reaction of smiles and kindness in this heart-warming story about a smile...that went around the world. Each smile sparks another, and then another and another and another until one day, that same smile appears out of nowhere... to help someone very special. This is a wonderful story to share with young readers, letting them know just how far a smile will go and that it s a little bit of magic that is understood in every country of the world. All it takes is one gesture to get the party started and young readers will be excited to learn that they can do something that can help millions of people all over the world.

Patrice Karst is a British-American author known for her work The Invisible String (2000), a contemporary classic in children's literature that has sold over two million copies and has been translated into more than twenty languages. Inspired by her experience as a single mother, Karst wrote this book to help her son cope with separation anxiety, offering a powerful metaphor about the love that connects people beyond time and space

In addition to The Invisible String, Karst has expanded her series with titles such as The Invisible Leash (2019), The Invisible String Backpack (2021), and The Invisible Web (2020), all focusing on themes of emotional connection and resilience. She also co-wrote The Invisible String Workbook (2019) with Dr. Dana Wyss, providing therapeutic activities for children and families. Her work falls within the genres of children's literature and emotional self-help, being widely used by educators and therapists to address issues of loss, separation, and unconditional love.
