Synopsis "The Soul of Black Mountain, Nevada"

Black Mountain, Nevada -- Lost souls, caught between this world and the next... 1789 - After a gruesome battle in which all are killed, the spirits of Spanish slave traders and their Indian victims roam Black Mountain, searching for a place of refuge. 1951 - The spirits of the slavers and the Indians terrorize Jerry, a retired Marine / WWII vet hired to set up long wire antennas and radio equipment on Black Mountain to monitor underground nuclear testing at the Nevada Test Site. 1965 - The spirits of the dead find shelter in the tightly wound ball of copper wire formed when surveyors dismantle Jerry's network on Black Mountain. Chaos erupts when they put the ball aboard the helicopter sent to extract them, forcing the pilot to jettison the ball and its occupants into a deep valley. 1985 - A social outcast hiking on Black Mountain finds the ball and uses the spirits for his own gain, but dies during a fight for his life when he is possessed by them. More than two decades later, I stumbled onto this terrifying enigma. A career of Cold War experience left me ill-prepared to challenge this invisible adversary and save the life of a friend. These events didn't happen in some third world country halfway around the world, but on Black Mountain, across the street from my home.
