Synopsis "The Stripling Warriors - A Modern Tale"

The story of the Stripling Warriors can be found in the book of Helaman in the Book of Mormon. In that story, the men fought to protect their lands from their enemies, time after time, for many, many years. Because it wearied their souls that they had taken so many lives, they made a covenant to fight no more. They went so far as to bury their weapons in the earth. When the enemy threatened them again, and it seemed that war was eminent, they feared they would have to break their vow. They had, however, raised up sons in faith and virtue. Two thousand of them, ages fourteen through eighteen, stepped forward and volunteered to fight, that their fathers might be able to keep their covenant with the Lord. They marched into battle against a much greater number of seasoned warriors to emerge victorious over their enemies. When their fathers went forth to count the dead, not one young warrior had been slain. This story is about eight brothers in modern times who lost their father, but were taught by their mother to cherish each other and serve in faith. They called themselves the Stripling Warriors.
