Habiendo leído la primera parte The Phoenix Project, esta historia no desarrolla a la protagonista de ninguna manera, haciendo que la historia progrese "por el solo hecho de tener que avanzar". La protagonista no comete errores, "descubre" la solución a los problemas "in extremis", y siempre sale victoriosa. Lamentablemente, no está a la altura de su predecesor.
