High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Ubbe, Ubba or Hubba Ragnarsson was a son of Ragnar Lodbrok and Lathgertha. Along with his brothers Halfdan and Ivar the Boneless, he was a leader of the Great Heathen Army. He was killed by the West Saxons at the Battle of Cynuit in Somerset in 878. Little is known about him and the information that is available about him is written in the Anglo-Saxon chronicle. In Late 865 the Great Heathen Army, a band of Vikings led by the brothers Ivar the Boneless, Halfdan Ragnarsson and Ubbe Ragnarsson sacked, conquered, and settled a large area of England. In 878 Ubbe and his Vikings met the West Saxon army under the leadership of Odda of Devon at the Battle of Cynuit, which resulted in a decisive defeat for the Vikings and the death of Ubbe. The town of Hubberston in Pembrokeshire, South Wales was named by him.
