Giuseppe Caputo was born in Barranquilla, Colombia, in 1982. He graduated in Creative Writing from New York University and the University of Iowa, and is the author of the novels Un mundo huérfano (Literatura Random House, 2018) and Estrella madre. The translation of Un mundo huérfano into English, by Juana Adcock and Sophie Hughes, received an English Penn Award. Caputo was the cultural director of the Bogotá International Book Fair (FILBo) between 2015 and 2018, and is one of the writers selected in the Hay Festival Bogotá 39 2017 list. He is currently a teacher and coordinator of the Master's in Creative Writing at the Instituto Caro y Cuervo.
