(Detroit, 1953) Thomas Ligotti is an unapologetic and unconditional supernatural fiction writer, already a classic. He studied at Michigan State University. He worked as an associate editor at Gale Publishing until 2001, the year he settled in Florida. In 1986, his first collection of stories, Songs of a Dead Dreamer, was published. In Ligotti's ominous and deranged universe, Creation is the absolute evil and madness lurks in the very essence of things. He has developed a reputation as one of the contemporary masters of literary horror, and his work often explores philosophical and existential themes.
