Synopsis "When Time Began: Book v of the Earth Chronicles: 5 "

The groundbreaking, bestselling series--millions of copies sold worldwide!A classic of ancient human history--and one of the inspirations behind the History Channel's Ancient Aliens--Zecharia Sitchin's Earth Chronicles series is the revelatory and deeply provocative masterwork that forever altered humankind's view of our history and our destiny. They came to Earth thousands of years ago to usher in mankind's first New Age of scientific growth and spiritual enlightenment. Under the guidance of these ancient visitors from the heavens, human civilization flourished - as revolutionary advances in art, science and thought swept through the inhabited world. And they left behind magnificent monuments -- baffling monoliths and awesome, towering structures that stand to this day as testaments to their greatness. In this extraordinarily documented, meticulously researched work, Zecharia Sitchin draws remarkable correlations between the events that shape our civilisation in millennia past - pinpointing with astonishing accuracy the tumultuous beginning of time as we know it . . . and revealing to us the indisputable signature of extraterrestrial god indelibly written in stone.

Zecharia Sitchin (1920-2010) was a writer and linguist best known for his ancient astronaut theory, which posits that an extraterrestrial race, the Anunnaki, intervened in the development of human civilization. His work is based on the interpretation of Sumerian texts and other ancient writings, which he considered evidence of extraterrestrial visits in antiquity. Throughout his career, Sitchin wrote numerous books on the subject, attracting both followers and detractors.

Among his most notable works are The 12th Planet (1976), The Wars of Gods and Men (1991), and The End of Days (2002). His books explore theories about the creation of humanity, the influence of the Anunnaki on ancient civilizations, and the relationship between gods and celestial bodies. While his works have been popular in the realm of pseudoscience, they have not received major literary awards or widespread acceptance in academia.
