Ariel Ávila
Ariel Fernando Ávila Martínez, born on June 5, 1983 in San Bernardo, Cundinamarca, is a Colombian political scientist and political analyst. He studied Political Science and earned a master's degree in Sociology at the National University of Colombia. He has been the deputy director of the Peace and Reconciliation Foundation and a professor at the Externado University of Colombia. In 2022, he was elected senator by the Green Alliance Party for the period 2022-2026.
Ávila is the author of several works focused on violence and conflict in Colombia. Among his publications are "Behind the War in Colombia" (2016) and "Why Do They Kill Them?" (2019). His work focuses on the political and social analysis of the country, providing critical and documented perspectives on the Colombian situation.
