Cesar Gonzalez
César González was born in 1989 into a very humble family in the Carlos Gardel village, in the west of the Buenos Aires suburbs. Imprisoned between the ages of sixteen and twenty-one, upon release he began a rapid artistic deployment. Filmmaker, poet, essayist, and music producer, he published the poetry books The Revenge of the Tied Lamb (2010), Chronicle of a Conditional Freedom (2012), Rhetoric to the Sigh of Complaint (2014) and Rectangle and Arrow (2021), and the book of chronicles The Fetishism of Marginality (2021). In addition to music videos and short films, he made eight feature films: Diagnosis Hope (2013), What Can a Body Do? (2014), Exomologesis (2016), Rain of Cages (2019), Athens (2019), Castle and Sun (2020), Clock, Solitude (2022) and Phobia (2023), co-directed with Sofía Gala, and the documentaries Corte Rancho (2014) and December (2021), co-directed with Alejandro Bercovich.
