Physician, child and adolescent psychiatrist at the Hawthorn Center in Northville, Michigan. Founder and co-coordinator of the Master's Degree in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, taught at the Faculty of Medicine of the UNAM. Director and founder of the Training Center for Independent Living of People with Intellectual Disabilities, from 1984 to date. Member of the Expert Group representing Latin America for the review and modification of the ICD-11 in the area of intellectual disability of the WHO. Member of the National System of Researchers, level I.
